Hub Administrator North East Hub

Wigan Deanery Trust – Transforming Wigan 

Salary: (£5,200 – actual salary (equivalent to a full time salary of 19,500)

The Wigan Deanery is engaged in a 7-year strategic development project of the Church of England with the key objective of turning around the mission and financial strength of the Deanery of Wigan.  As part of this development, from 1 January 2020 the former 29 parishes of the Deanery have been restructured into 7 parishes covering the Wigan Deanery, within a Team Ministry Benefice. 

A vacancy for a Hub Administrator has arisen in the North East Hub Parish (which includes the churches of Saint David, Saint John the Baptist New Springs, Saint Stephen, Saint Elizabeth) to work closely with the Hub Leadership Team. We are looking for a capable and experienced individual who can work as a PA to the Hub and Associate Hub Leader, provide administrative and secretarial support to the hub whilst also working closely with the Core Services Team at the Wigan Deanery Trust. You will make a big difference to the impact Church Wigan will have in the deanery / community.

Property Officer

Wigan Deanery Trust

We have established the Wigan Deanery Trust to manage certain functions across the deanery and work with external partners to fund activities aligned with Church Wigan’s objectives.

We are looking for a capable and experienced Property Officer to facilitate the effective building management of the Churches and Church halls of the Church of England in Wigan. You would provide administrative support which includes further developing an accessible asset register, running associated maintenance systems and monitoring legislative compliance. You will make a big difference to the impact Church Wigan will have in the deanery / community.

Communications Officer

FIXED TERM CONTRACT 12 months

Hours:  8 hours per week

The Wigan Deanery is engaged in a 7-year strategic development project of the Church of England with the key objective of turning around the mission and financial strength of the Deanery of Wigan.

We have established the Wigan Deanery Trust to manage certain functions across the deanery. The aim is to relieve the burden from church members so that they can engage more with their local communities.

For this we are looking for a capable and experienced Communications Officer to seek out and write content, create and send out deanery wide communications, manage content of Church Wigan website and general communications. You’ll be someone who has a heart for people and community, and a strong sense of the place of the church in society.  You will have a good understanding of the mission of the Church of England and will want to communicate what God and his people are doing in Wigan.  You are likely to have some writing / journalistic experience.  It’s important that you are outgoing and good at engaging with people.
